Since the beginning, in which resounds the words from a letter written by Cardinal Iacopo Ammannati in August 1468, the documentary intertwines spectacular images of today with the voices of yesterday, in a portrait of Pienza that escapes commonplaces to enhance its ultimate meaning, that of an extraordinarily happy place for the encounter between art and nature, between pleasures of the spirit and enjoyments of the body, between elevation of the soul and the cult of friendship. This is still the reason why we come back today to the city created by Pio II: To remind us that it is still possible to be in peace with the environment, keep the balance between city and countryside, forget about our society fragmented in casts, and let the light pass through us.
